I am not sure whether this is the right forum for the question, if not please point me to the right one.


I have a custom auto discovery script. The script result is a set of nagios configuration files. Basically the script identifies to what [host|service] group the discovered item belongs to and then creates an appropriate configuration based on some template.

The next step would be to present differences between current nagios configuration and discovered one to a sysadmin. After this, the selected items will be deployed to the nagios server.

I am not sure how to achieve this.
* Should I work directly with nagiosql database?
* What is the best/easiest/right way to deploy my discovered services/hosts?
